Dear all,
I hope you’ll find the few articles here useful as you begin life as medical students and housemen. I used to write as a houseman, although infrequently due to the many, many, many commitments I had then as you will soon find out. I grouped them all here for easy reading after getting emails from medical students all over about housemanship in Malaysia.
Heads up, life as a houseman is anything but easy, but it gets better with time as long as you keep a good circle of family and friends. Looking back, I am still amazed at how I got thorough them, an experience so rich and memorable that will stay with you forever.
To all medical students, please know what you are getting into. Medical school does not end after 5 years and in fact it grows with you. While some are formal and the others not, they are all building blocks in shaping the kind of doctor you’ll end up becoming later in life.
You are all free to drop me emails, tweets and posts on Facebook, I will do my best to reply them the soonest possible.
Persevere. Remember that when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
Good luck, best wishes and hope to read your comments within these articles.
